No Spend Days and A Question

January 12th, 2011 at 03:38 pm

We didn't spend any money Monday or Tuesday and we shouldn't today either! Tomorrow we're going out to dinner for hubby's bday.

I tried yoga for the first time last night. I am not very flexible and I couldn't get my breathing right. I'll try it again Sunday! Tonight I'm trying Zumba.

I keep going back and forth on whether to pay off the van quickly or beef up our savings account. We have about $5600 left on the van and our savings is at about 1 month of our monthly income. After all bills and "variables"(groceries, gas, etc) we still have about $500 left.

What would you do?

Personally, I think I would beef up the savings to build an emergency fund. It is a nice feeling to have about three months of your expenses saved for a rainy day. That's my vote. Congrats on all your no spend days. I have been enjoying some of those lately too!

I agree, beef up your E-fund.

If you are really stuck on what to do, split the money and put half on the van and half in the EF. You'll make a little progress on both.

I would add to the EF.

I would add to savings too.

I agree... EF and savings, as noted above. Congrats on the yoga, it's really good for you, and I hope that it leads to some insurance of better health and flexibility for you over time.
